ALEXANDRA ABINGTON
Alex is a Senior Manager at Bain's New York office, specializing in both healthcare and commercial excellence work. She has been at Bain since interning as a Summer Associate during her Columbia MBA in 2018. At Bain, she is involved in Moms@Bain, Bain's Social Impact Auction, and Columbia Recruiting.
While at Columbia Business School, Alex was a recipient of the school's Feldberg Fellowship and was also a McKinsey Emerging Scholar. She was involved in the leadership team of the CBS Consulting Club and organized the Annual Columbia Women in Business conference. She was also a Hermes Fellow and involved in her Cluster Leadership as social chair. Finally, Alex was also an InSITE Consultant, which connected local graduate students with startups for high-impact consulting work.
Alex began her career at BlackRock as an Analyst in 2012 on the Financial Markets Advisory team, which provides capital markets advisory services to financial institutions and their regulators. In 2015, Alex transitioned roles internally to the Corporate Strategy & Development.
Alex graduated Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude with a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 2012. She also completed a minor in Financial Economics. She graduated from Columbia Business School in 2019 with Dean's Honors. She grew up in Washington, DC and currently lives in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn with her husband, Gordon, 18-month old son, Henry, and their goldendoodle Millie.
