Julia Winarso Diez

Julia currently lives in London and is a Global Equity Portfolio Manager at Railpen, the UK’s £32bn Railway Pension Scheme. She is responsible for a £700m opportunities portfolio investing in late stage private and early stage public companies. She also co-manages a £2.7bn large cap quality growth portfolio. She graduated from Columbia Business School in 2016 and was the recipient of Columbia’s Feldberg Fellowship. 

Prior to starting business school, Julia worked as an highly ranked equity research analyst for eight years on a top three ranked extel team, most recently as a director at HSBC covering European and Middle Eastern Transportation. Within this remit, Julia covered shipping, logistics, infrastructure and postal companies and also worked as the lead analyst on several IPOs within Europe and Asia. In previous roles at RBS and Goldman Sachs, Julia also covered the Airline and Leisure sectors. During her MBA Julia gained experience at buy-side firms, T. Rowe Price and Development Capital Partners. 

Julia is also a Chartered Accountant and a member of the ICAEW, qualifying with Deloitte in 2006. She attended University College London where she obtained a 1st Class degree in Physical Sciences. Julia is a School Governor and also has two young children.
