Lauren McKenna Surzyn
Lauren is the Chief Operating Officer of Kirkoswald Asset Management, a global macro hedge fund with a focus on emerging markets. Previously, Lauren was an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank where she spent 12 years in a variety of roles. She worked in the Prime Brokerage Division on 4 teams: business consulting, sales – focused on both fundamental and quantitative hedge funds, and capital introduction. She also spent a year on the Data Solutions team where she sold proprietary data to hedge fund and asset manager clients.
Lauren earned her MBA from Columbia Business School in 2015, where she graduated with Dean’s Honors. She was elected as her Cluster’s Alumni and Development Representative and she served as the Class of 2015’s Annual Fund Pledge Chair.
She graduated from Princeton University in 2007 with a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering. She also attended St. Paul’s boarding school and she volunteers for all three of her alma maters. Lauren currently serves as Vice Chair of the Princeton National Annual Giving Committee. She helps raise approximately $65M annually from alumni, was a member of the Capital Campaign Executive Committee that raised $1.88B during 2007-2012, was a board member in London for the Princeton UK chapter, she is a former Chair of Princeton’s Alumni Schools Committee Bronx Chapter and she continues to interview high school students seeking admission to the university. Since graduating from St. Paul’s School, she has held a number of roles as Form Director, Form Agent and Alumni Association Executive Committee member. Lauren co-founded the SPS XIX Society in 2016, the alumnae group to foster ties between women of all generations. As the President for the Feldberg Fellows, Lauren organizes masters in business industry lectures, career events and social gatherings for and fosters engagement among the Fellows across the globe.
Lauren grew up in Pacific Palisades, CA, but now lives in NYC with her husband, Tim, and two sons. She enjoys traveling, squash and volleyball. Lauren is a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.
